Hello everyone,

I have an SP300V, using Roland Eco-Sol Max inks.

I've been experiencing random "white spots" (see attached photo) in printed red areas only. Any ideas why? Or what I need to do to fix this issue? I have manually cleaned the machine several times and run the cleaning function from the control panel 3 or four times but didn't solve the problem.

Thanks in advance!
Dan

Thanks again for your help. The problem has been resolved and the printer is up and running "spot" free!

General section would be fine. What is the humidity level in your shop?

Thanks Admin... under what topic would you suggest? General Discussions? I will take a better pic and then move this over to the forum section per your suggestion.

artifacting was my initial thought too but it is only in the "reds" so the contamination would have to be on the "Magenta" print head? Orange prints OK.

Hi Wendy,

Yes did print head cleaning, have replaced all consumables, wiper blades, scrapers cleaned and deep cleaned several times. The print profile is correct because same file has printed perfectly many times before ( I have several files stored in the print queue). I even tried cleaning the media thinking it may have been dirty. I'm leaning more towards the possibility of a mechanical issue.

Thanks..... Maybe I will clean again.

To get a better response and have more people see this I recommend that you post it in the forum section. Blogs can sometimes get missed.

It looks like artifact from something being on the media like a spot of dust that can off after printing but it is hard to see in the photo.

ooh, did you do the printhead cleanings? I know you said you manually cleaned it, but did that include the right side of the machine under the panel cover? That area, and the wipers, get very caked on our machine and we have to take them out and clean them often. I think that was a cause of our red "blotchyness" once, too.

Do you have the right print profile? Have you tried doing a high quality for print choice to see if it's doing it still? Did you run a test print to see where your little lines are? How about a deep clean on the cleaning settings? Just some ideas.
