I need to print some lettering to put one of those vinyl pop-up tents.  I'm not sure the best product to use since it will be outside in the sun most of the time so it needs to be print & Cut and be semi-permanent.

Thanks for any suggestions!

I do vinyl work for a local awning shop-and most of the materials he uses are treated to be water repellant, just like your nylon tent is going to be. (most likely) so none of your vinyls are going to stick for long-the adhesive won't grab. What he does is have me make a 'mask' for the lettering, logo, etc. and leave a couple inches of waste material around it-then peel out the lettering or design. He sticks that down, adds masking tape and newspaper around it to prevent overspray. Then he 'primes' it with Krylon spray and then paints it whatever color the client wants. The light 'primer' spray seals the edges so there is no paint bleed. Then peel off the reverse mask and there you go-instant and permanent lettering.

remember that blog posts usually do not get seem as well as forum posts so you may want to post this there also.

I also agree with Robert if you decide to use adhesive vinyl - cast is the way to go

I would recommend solar print if you are heat pressing it - it will apply at a lower temperature and not damage the pop up tent

I would use a cast vinyl (manufacturer of choice) and laminate and you should be fine. A calendered vinyl will shrink a little over time and collect dirt around the edges
