Need help with Corel to Roland Contour Letters

We are very, very new to the cutting of a corel design with my roland.  I have letters that consist of a block letter with an 8 pt black outline as the back layer with a block letter and a 4 pt white outline as the top layer, making the shadow effect.

I convert curves and add my countour cut line, but it keeps appearing INSIDE the black outline and cuts the black out.

I've tried boundary and countouring every way I can figure.  Obviously there is a setting/trick I don't know that someone does.

We are using Corel X5.

Please HELP!

you need to convert the artwork to a vector art. Bitmap> Trace outline> Select and group> Use contour tool to make a trace around your artwork. In X5 there should be an option available for putting a seperate docker for VersaWorks Spot colours. If you need more info shoot me an email.

John, use the contour too, in Corel, to make your outlines NOT the outline tool
You can make an outline a mile wide and it still won't have any width....always check in Wireframe view
Making outlines to be sent to any type of cutter requires you use Contours

Stevens workaround will fix your issue but IMHO, it's not a good habit to get into
Converting your outline to an object will certainly work.
However if you get into complex designs with boatloads of outlines, you'll soon find yourself lost in black hole
If you get into the habit of making your outlines with contours, you'll simplify a ton of issues down the road

You need to convert the outline to an object. Then use the boundary. I had a video on complex cutlines here: http://myversacamm.com/video/complex-cutline that talks about this issue.

not seeing the art, my suggestion would be to ungroup, left click on the black, right click on your cutcontour color
