Based on the South Coast of England, we make FabriStick® - firstly on a borrowed machine, but we have just purchased The Beast - a lovely Versacamm VP300i.

It arrived with three hours of training - which ended up as 25 minutes because our internet connection got severed by workmen literally as the machine arrived - so the RIP software couldn't be downloaded remotely (and the new pc didn't have a disc drive).  Honestly, it was a bit like a soap opera.

So with the help of every ethernet cable in the road, we managed to get it working, but not really learnt it yet.  The help line is now the hot line.  We have to keep using different phones so they don't recognise it is us!

The Beast is clearly from Mars (and we are an all female team, definitely from Venus), so you can see where problems might arise.  The Beast does things without explanation.  We need a step by step guide.  The Beast knows exactly where the start point of the material is.  We still have L and R written on the back of our hands.

BUT, we have made stuff today and even managed to get The Beast to cut (of sorts) around the outside of the object, but not profile cut.  Clearly we have a communication issue with CutContour lines.

Tomorrow is, as they say, another day.

Lovely to meet you all, and look forward to getting to know you better - our new Beast's family!

Ahh, thanks for the heads up, Steven.  I will repost it in the forum, but I didn't see a 'hello' page!

Karen - I would recommend posting this in the forum rather than a blog post. Blog posts are not seen by many users and the forum will get responses to your questions.

I love the post! Happy Camming and I hope you tame the beast ;)
