A Digital Printing Network

Simplified my home network by removing an old hub and router and using the internet modem to route both wireless and wired.  Went to print to the Versacamm today but the printer won't connect.  Have restarted everything, disconnected and reconnected, verified network(s) and tried to reinstall to no avail.  Any ideas.  I've got work to get out.

Finally figured out the IP address and printed this evening.  Thanks for your help.  I have a cross over cable coming if I ever dismantle the network.  Thanks again.

Makes sense - looks like something I should add to my parts collection.  There still is a network conflict and I need to take care of that also.  I'm routing from my wired network into the switch and the PC to the switch and the Versacamm to the switch.  Should have been no problem but usually is when there is a deadline.  I think it is picking up a wireless connection also.  Too late now to deal with. Thanks

A switch and a hub use different ways to transfer information,  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crossover_cable  This will explain it better than I can, The machine is considered another pc, doesn't  matter with hub to, but switch to, it does. This is to the best of my knowledge, as always I could be wrong(and as my Wife would second) I have been wrong before.

Don't have cross over wires.  I know it it a TCP-IP conflict but I can't find it.  Can't understand why just adding the switch caused the problem.

It just changes the positions of two wires and if you can make them yourself it's easy-but essential to connect two processors together.

Are you using a crossover cable from PC to Machine. can't just use cat5e has to have a crossover in the link.

you need to ensure your network settings are correct - watch this video: http://myversacamm.com/video/connecting-versacamm-to

Direct connect via network cable only gave me the error message "Device not found or status not acquired correctly from the device."  Restarted while connected but no luck.  Any other ideas?  Network cards are reading good.

direct connect from your PC to the printer and then reset your versacamm settings in the printer settings menu.
