Lorri, if you do a Google search, you'll come up with several free files available online. I don't have the links in front of me right now.

There's also tons you can buy, Machine Wash filters is one place.

But if you have Corel, you can easily make your own too.

Open the Texture fill dialog box and fiddle with the color settings.

As long as you wind up with a monochrome black/white raster, you can quickly and easily change the color of the distress and make the background transparent.

Just remember it's sort of the opposite of what your used to.

Right clicking (outline) will be the distress color, fill color will be the background.

Pamela, this is part of another post I answered about creating a distressed underbase for screenprinters.

But the principle is the same.

If you put the result on a navy or black shirt, you'll have the illusion of a distressed graphic.

The only difference with working with the VC, is that instead of intersecting your distress filter, all you'd need to do is POWERCLIP it into the  boundary shape. Use an outline NO FILL.  I only colored it red so it was easy to see in the visual.

Vicky, why don't you try to make the color of the distress as close as you can get to the color of the shirt?
That way you'll be simulating the 'show-thru'

The VC prints on vinyl that has a white base for vinyl.  The clear and air tech are clear vinyl except it only gives you a hint of color on dark lets say black in color. So the short answer is no. But if you like to experiement then try your design on clear and use it on a dark scrap - I have used this and got a desired look.  In additon - spectra cut is a signal color cad cut vinyl - you can try this at high temp - 400 - since it is cold peel - peel it hot - which leaves the adhesive.  Make sure you use light pressure.  Unfortunately lots of things we do are experiments and then share positive results - not all share.  The last point - you posted this in the blog area - not all read the blog - so post in the general area and you might get more assistance.  You did get 11 views as of my post - no one had an answer but they are interested in the topic.  Best of luck.

I don't see anyway of doing it on the Versacamm except for decals, signage, etc. but unless you have the 'white' cartridge and print on the clear transfer film you can't do it. It's done by using a 'Distressed' fill on the lettering and design work and screenprinted directly. It could be done with a DTG printer on whites and lights, but would need one that prints on darks to do it correctly. Somewhere in the depths of my hard drive storage I have the 'distressed fill' files but have never used them-couldn't use it in the graphics program I use. Old school...can't use new age techniques.
