I just purchased a used SP-300. When they ran it for me it appeared to be working just fine. When I got it to my. shop and fired it up it made one good print, but was set to draft. I changed the setting to high quality and tried the same print and that is when the
the blue stopped working. I have cleaned it every way possible (multiple times and it still won't print dark. I contacted Roland and they sent me a test to print. The red and yellow are fine. he black looks brown and the blue is faded or grainy. The blue also has rough edges and appears to be very lightly over spraying on the rest of the colors.
I noticed on the test print that there are a few lines missing, but i don't think that is enough to cause what is happening.
Any ideas on how to resolve this will be greatly appreciated.

Comment by Butch on November 21, 2011 at 3:26pm Marianne, download the manual for ColorRip from the Roland site. It will explain step by step the right way to go about your jobs. First and foremost set up your machine properly before continuing. Do you env. match, your print calibrations , adjustments , print cut, so on and so forth. Read your machine manual from front to back over and over . My moto is "If all else fails read the instructions."
Comment by marianne croxen on November 21, 2011 at 2:45pm The material is an intermediate white vinyl. The files were printed together. I'm not in a jam, but I will send you the files so you can check them. As always thanks for your help!
I remember seeing a place on Colorip where you can choose the type of media, but now I can't find it. Colorip is definitely not my favorite program right now!
What type of material are you printing on? Did you print the two files together or as 'separate' jobs and reset Prepress/MaxImpact on them?
If you are in a jam for the order and I have the same material, I'd be glad to print it for you and help you out.
Send me the file anyways so I can 'test' it for you and rule out file problems. Original, eps and jpg-send them all.

Comment by marianne croxen on November 21, 2011 at 2:08pm OK. So here i still sit. I thought I would try printing a .jpg and .eps of the same file to see if there are differences. Of course there are! The top print is .eps and the bottom is.jpg. The black is coming out super heavy. So wet that it takes a few hours to dry. More so in the .eps than the .jpg. I am getting blue overspray on both an you can clearly see. Also, you can see there was an ink streak at the top when it started printing. The guns are supposed to be grey. I feel like I am still at square one. If anything the blue is worse about the overspray. The blue at the top is closer to what the original blue should look like.
Comment by marianne croxen on November 19, 2011 at 5:45pm Still the same in the am - missing those squares. I switched computers and printed a .jpg. Now the black is putting wayyyyy to much ink out. Actually a raised amount where it prints. And the blue is over spraying the rest of the colors .Now what??? I'm going nuts here!
Comment by marianne croxen on November 18, 2011 at 11:16pm ok i did part one. cleaned it all up ...again. waited 15 minutes, ran test print. still the same. i will run it again in the am. One of my problems is that i don't know what anything should look or act like. I really appreciate all the knowledge offered here!
This is a picture of the wipers (as if you didn't know!) They seem fuzzy on top. Is that they way they should be, or should they be smooth?
Comment by Butch on November 18, 2011 at 4:52pm Its not normal for just test prints right after cleaning. Check your wipers , clean them, clean this area, clean the head as Roland and I described earlier. After cleaning shut down machine DO NOT DO A TEST PRINT AT THIS TIME. Wait 10-15 minutes and power up machine do a test print. If no change shut down machine and let it sit overnight - sometimes this allows the captop to seat correctly. Keep us posted.
