irving donaldson replied to Libby Hobbs's discussion To Laminate or not to Laminate
"I waited but no takers. If you use at least a 3.5 media you will not have to laminate. If you choose to, the clear shield spray would work well on them - 2 light applications."
irving donaldson replied to Jeremy's discussion STS Ink
"Never tried the ink, but met a few of their reps and heard about their backing of the product. Not all inks are made the same and the wrong one can save you money on ink, but get you in repair costs. Will look into them further, thanks for the info.…"

irving donaldson replied to Jeremy's discussion STS Ink
"Where are you getting yours from, Jeremy!"
irving donaldson replied to Josh 's discussion Why would my black and cyan ink drain ?
"Bordeaux ink could be very good ink, but you do see how I knew you had 3rd party ink. So now a new problem enters the picture, you need to check your cartridges. Maybe something or maybe nothing, but these things do happen more with 3rd party ink,…"
irving donaldson replied to Josh 's discussion Why would my black and cyan ink drain ?
"Your SP has 2 heads - black and cyan share, and the other 2 share. Your problem is located in one head. If that head is not capped, due to a dirty top, dirty or damage seal on top, not properly flushed, and you turned off the power - gravity did…"
irving donaldson replied to Josh 's discussion Why would my black and cyan ink drain ?
"Not sure why you would ever turn off main power switch, even for a day. Getting pass that are you using 3rd party ink? Is your printer level? Did the head become uncapped? It is a gravity feed system, so if seal is not complete, ink will leak."
irving donaldson replied to Sydney Fedesna's discussion Can't Export File as EPS or PDF
"Ensure when you exporting if you have multiple images and multiple pages , select the option for this page only and the selection only."
irving donaldson replied to matthew johnstone's discussion HELP!!! VP-540i printing issue
"A two day head soak on the black might help, but to be honest that head is done. When you have missing nozzles those can be recovered, but when they are deflecting up, down or to the sides - there is no way to correct the nozzles. Magenta - A…"
irving donaldson replied to David Docuyanan's discussion Laser Engravers
"Those are different than the co2 cutters/engravers. Those for me are more like markers. They can cut plastic by a series of repeat paths. Those definitely are not fabric cutters."
irving donaldson replied to adrian popi's discussion artefact problem
"Adrian thanks for the update. So it was a communication issue. Have not seen it from that, so it would be interesting to know if the cables went bad or worked loose. Glad you have it worked out, Happy CAMMing!"
irving donaldson replied to David Docuyanan's discussion Laser Engravers
"Had a universal, thought about the epilog. Both good, no longer own one, but still miss mine. I had a 30 watt, wish I had a higher one. The wattage is what gives you the cutting power. You will need the rotary attachment to do glasses. Also look at…"
irving donaldson replied to matthew johnstone's discussion HELP!!! VP-540i printing issue
"As you see from your print, your black head is bad. You will get banding and overspray whenever that head fires. Your cyan head will give you some overspray. Your magenta head, half is great and the other is experiencing ink starvation. If the top…"
irving donaldson replied to Albert Lozoya's discussion Suggestions for printable sticker material
"2 mil vinyl is too thin and is given away with the machines. The GCVP is a great vinyl and comes in a thicker vinyl. For your application I would use nothing less than a 3 or 3.5 vinyl. I currently use the same vinyl you mentioned as my standard…"

irving donaldson replied to Debbie Turner's discussion SP-300V Yellow printing Red
"No problem Debbie. Not using it a lot is a problem, especially for an older machine. The cap will dry out and get spots that have to soften up for the ink to be pulled into the dampers. So in addition to seeing your cross colors you should be…"

Connecting VersaWorks to a VersaCAMM

Posted on April 29, 2015 at 3:35pm 1 Comment

Recently, Inobu and I had a very interesting conversation offline about an online topic of connectivity. He was contradicting my many years of connecting Versaworks to VersaCAMMS. Inobu were using terms like Automatic Private IP Addressing (APIPA) and I was like WTH. Life needs to be simple and the more time I have showing and not connecting is the best for me. I found no problem in setting a static IP address on the network card, and making VWs and the VC have the same address on…

Versacamm Issues

Posted on November 28, 2009 at 12:17pm 5 Comments

Greetings all and I will check with Roland next week, but in the meantime....... Have anyone had issues with jobs being dropped after partial printing. I have used 3 different systems all resulting in the same thing - jobs partial printing at various points. I have used different size files and types of jobs and media all with the same results. I am running the latest firmware and versaworks versions. I have restarted the machines to include mainpower switch. I have also went from wireless to… Continue
