I'm just having a hard time (mentally) removing finished jobs from there, justifying it by the thought process of, "just in case I need to get at it again quickly for something". What's other…Continue

"With our new VG540 I just noticed today that it also has the "exclamation point warning" over one of the yellow levels. As you all may or may not know, this model holds TWO of each of the four colors. That said, am I right in thinking this…"

"Thanks for your contribution. Sometimes if the marks catch a strong light source, changing the angle of the machine helps. Sometimes folks forget about test cuts and the reg marks are partially missing, your tip or a sharpie can assist. Nice when…"

Cutter not recognizing registration marks? This tip worked for me...

(And let me preface his by adding, maybe all you veterans out there already knew this- but i'm ridiculously new to the "print & cut" side of the street, having come from 14yrs of working with just a 30" cutter!)  So our brand new VG540  was successfully cutting (after laminating) about 1 in every 5 jobs, making this new guy question just about everything to do with the whole process!                                                                Another person in the industry with a similar…See More

"And now that you bring that up, my shining Knight.......is there anything we can do about editing that path  to the original spot?  Can it be linked to a different path? When I moved down here last year, I tried to take my gigantic VW…"

irving donaldson replied to Paul Mascitti's discussion Seeking input- How many Jobs to YOU keep "sitting in queue"??
"Yes but save it through VW and use the drop down and include the source. If you do that it is a true backup with settings. If you just save it will look for the file in the original spot and if you move it - the job cannot be printed. The former is…"

"Glad to hear about your thoughts on the forum. BTW showing the customer the chart can be opening up a pandora's box One methodology that I seen with customers is to print the colors like a colorbook with the colors you want them to…"

"Not the atlas, but thoughts I keep jobs for me in the queue to add to short jobs that will waste media I do the rvw file plus source - for the gremlins When VW load it runs through all jobs in the queue, if bad job it can make the program…"

CYW replied to Paul Mascitti's discussion Seeking input- How many Jobs to YOU keep "sitting in queue"??
"I keep absolutely NONE in my queue. When I finish the job, I simply save the rvw file. Next time I need it, whether it be the next day or the next year, I open up that rvw file and ALL the settings are still there intact. I don’t see the…"

"I try not to keep more than 25 - only keeping the ones I know will be repeats. There to depending on size.  Others I will save in a folder just in case, always saving file and source. I also try to backup ones that will repeat in case of…"

"Ok, understandable. I have one printed, so i'll just get with the customer and show him in person. Thanks for the info! (BTW- i'm glad I stumbled onto this forum, as being more "brand specific" I think this will be very useful!!)"
