California Proposition 65 Requirements

Are there any carcinogenic chemicals in Roland Eco-Sol Max inks?Products manufactured after August 2018 for sale in California will require new disclosures in order to be protected under Prop 65's safe harbor provision. Part of this includes listing at least 1 of the chemicals in the product.Does anyone have a list of the chemicals in Roland inks?Note: Additionally, small businesses with fewer than 10 employees are exempt from Proposition 65’s warning requirements.…See More

"Is uninking something I should do, or should I hire a tech to prepare the machine for me? I just emptied out the waste bin, so hopefully that will stay low and less likely to create a mess."

"Best to unink it - Pump-Up and then do a fill when you get where you going. If ink spills inside you will ruin your machine. Being unplugged for 20 hours is not an issue - unrestrained ink is."

Preparing to move a BN-20

In the coming weeks or months I will be moving to another state. I'll be taking all of the business equipment in one trip - including my Roland BN-20.I can make the drive in about 16-20 hours. I don't even mind stopping halfway through to plug in the machine and let it do a self-cleaning cycle or stopping at a hotel for the night. In that scenario. I cut my unplugged time to about 2 legs of 9 hours each.Is it safe to leave it unplugged for 20 hours? What, if any, moving prep should I do on the…See More

"If it stays uncapped for 30 minutes you will not need to worry about lines, the nozzles might start to show some distress, but that will clear up with some printing."

"I worry - if it stays frozen there for more than 30 minutes, do you run the risk of the head drying out or lines getting clogged?"

"Yes those type of things interrupt the communication. Once one packet gets misplaced, inspected, or rerouted the printer will wait forever for what will never come. Patient they are!"

BN-20 freezing during print or cut

Yesterday when running some jobs on my BN-20 - the same jobs I've run before, my printer stopped right in the middle of the job.The first time it stopped in the middle of printing. The next 2 times it stopped in the cut phase - with the blade down on the vinyl. After each crash, I did a reboot of both the computer and printer. My PC had a system process (couldn't identify which one) eating up a lot of CPU so I am wondering if this is my OS choking that in turn is handling the print job.Does…See More

Mike Bertrand replied to Ken Wagner's discussion Cutting Blades...The Difference?
"I replaced the blade and the cuts are very crisp now, and require less pressure. I couldn't magnify the old blade or see damage, but it sure had a lot of fuzz/debris all around it. New blade cuts like a dream!"

BN-20 Setup and Questions

Hello,I just wanted to share a set-up I made for my BN-20. My work office has a door that is constantly open to the garage or back yard with my dogs always coming and going, and I know particles are not the friend of my BN-20. So I had some thin wood cut to create a bottom, top, and sides around the space in my wire rack that stores my BN-20. I then added some plastic to go around all sides except the bottom).Having this set-up for several months, I've found this to keep out virtually all dust…See More
