Kimberley replied to John Miller's discussion Is it ok to print in a carpeted room?
"If you are worried about the carpet being an issue, buy those rubber mats (or low pile static-free carpet) that come in squares (which are usually targeted for garages or workout rooms) to put under your machine's work area. They keep the…"

"We had carpet in our last place and it was terrible.  Strands would stick to the media every time it hit the floor.  his being said, we used low quality, Home Depot carpet so I will assume that was a huge factor.  We now have it on…"

"A good rule is to match cal with cal and cast with cast. Actually, putting cast laminate over calendered vinyl helps it from shrinking. That way you only need to stock 1 laminate and 2 vinyls. 3M recommends using their cast laminates such as: 8518,…"

John Miller replied to matt hammond's discussion vehicle graphics and laminating
"Only use CAST digital vinyl on vehicles. You can use calendered CUT VINYL on vehicles no problems but the calendered digital vinyls shrink way too much and will show a nasty dirt line within a month or so of application around the graphic. Yes cast…"

"When it gets bad and you need a temporary fix until your new one arrives - whenever that may be - you can use a piece of scotch tape or just flip the other one over and push it back into the grove."

Admin replied to John Miller's discussion Cutting strip, Is alittle damage ok?
"Mine are much worse than that and no issues - I would worry about it if there is a deep gouge and you notice a change in your cutting with it but it takes a decent amount before it really gets affected."

Cutting strip, Is alittle damage ok?

Hey guys, My SP300i has the original cutting strip and before today it was perfect with no scratches/cuts. I was cutting some cut vinyl on my machine that was super long cause the versacamm tracks better than my plotter and it went through and gave about a 2" scratch on the strip.Should i replace it or do you think it should be fine for good registration on print/cut still? Thanks!See More
