"You can get pretty close using PMS, if you can get the PMS color from the manufacturer. Your best bet is to purchase a PMS Coated color wheel and from there you can tweak and make a custom color."

Too much vinyl on window perf?

Customer wants the side windows of his van covered with window perf to protect the contents during delivery.  He doesn't want me to print the perf since the print may not match the color of the cut vinyl that will go on the body of the van.  If I were to put cut vinyl on the window perf would this amount of coverage be too much for road regulations?  If I can get a pms color for the vinyl how close will the versacamm come to matching the vinyl with ink?…See More

"John,      The laminate would allow for a better surface to adhere to and you should use optically clear laminate on window perf. I would go that route and you should not have issues."

Applying vinyl to sheet laminated window perf

A customer wants to use window perf to cover the rear and side windows on his vans.  He didn't want to print on these as I may not be able to get the correct match of color where it would transition to cut vinyl on the body so I am thinking of applying the same cut vinyl to the window perf to keep the color match.  There won't be a lot of coverage on the window perf so I don't believe it will defeat the purpose.  My question, has anyone done this and how does it hold up?  When you laminate…See More

Liquid vs sheet laminate

I am getting ready to do a couple of window perf graphics for van rear windows.  I have seen other forum posts where members use liquid laminate instead of sheet laminate.  I have a can of frog juice but was wondering if the liquid laminate will fill in the holes to keep dirt out.  Anyone use both forms and have any recommendations?See More

Marking up sign materials

I pose this query because of a conversation I saw on a t-shirt forum in which of a couple of screen printers remark they do not mark up the garments but just charge for printing whereas others state they mark up garments as well add the printing.  Is there anyone on this forum who doesn't mark up sign materials and just total material cost plus cost of printing(cost of printing meaning labor and overhead)?  What is a decent mark up on materials?  50% or 100%?  Seems See More

Curious if I am in the ballpark

I would like some input on what I am about to quote the customer.  This will not be a wrap.  The vans are white so will be using cut vinyl except for rear window.  The image shows closely what is proposed.  The only exception is the side windows will no longer be printed perf.  The large "W" will go in either the side door window or the rear side window as tall as the window will allow in a two color layer cut vinyl.  The rest of the body will be cut vinyl including the hood.  The rear door…See More
