James Murphy replied to Matt Sexton's discussion sp-300v not printing
"Hi Matt, did you do any cleanings after changing the heads? When you change the heads the ink tends to flow back in the lines, which means a powerful cleaning or 2 is required to push the ink back into the heads."

James Murphy replied to Austin Prianti's discussion SP-300V NOT DETECTING CROPS MARKS AFTER I LAMINATE
"Yes, do all marks. It will not damage the machine, the sharpie will dry before you even put it in your printer. Even Roland recommends this method if your crop marks aren't reading."

James Murphy replied to Austin Prianti's discussion SP-300V NOT DETECTING CROPS MARKS AFTER I LAMINATE
"Hi Austin, you can try darkening the crop marks with a sharpie, sometimes they are not dark enough for the sensor to pick up and this trick usually fixes the issue. Have a great weekend!"

James Murphy replied to Pedro Toro's discussion VS-540 A lot of cyan missing.
"I think it might be time to contact your dealer. After all of this and no improvement you're most likely looking at a head replacement."

James Murphy replied to Pedro Toro's discussion VS-540 A lot of cyan missing.
"When was the last time you replaced your capping station? It looks like you might not be getting a complete seal on the print head causing it to suck ink through unevenly and under-perform when cleaning. Note the cyan ink starting to travel into…"

James Murphy replied to Luis Pizano-Bermudez's discussion Heat Control
"That looks like it could be contamination, wipe your media off with a microfiber cloth or something similar and try again, if it doesn't work try bumping up your heater settings a small amount."

James Murphy replied to Luis Pizano-Bermudez's discussion Heat Control
"The heater settings are taken care of via the media profile that you choose, just choose the media type that matches what you are printing on. The difference between the two Generic banners are that Generic Banner 2 offers more print passes than…"

James Murphy replied to Sydney Fedesna's discussion Forum Discussions
"They do not have to be approved by a moderator, but looking at the history, you have posted that question in different categories in the forums so that may be why you cannot find them. I am going to leave one of the posts up and remove the others."

James Murphy replied to Jeremy's discussion Has anyone changed their own printer head?
"Jeremy, replacing a print head is a tech level repair and would require a Roland Certified technician on-site to replace it. Aside from that, the best heads to buy for the machine are the OEM Roland heads, they each have a "head rank" that…"

James Murphy replied to Randy brunner's discussion 45* and/or 60* blade and offset
"Well the different blades have different uses. 45 degree is great or standard cutting/ block numbers and lettering. 60 degree is good for smaller text and high detail cutting. Offsets for each are as follows; 45 degree- .250 60 degree- .500"

James Murphy replied to Vann Stockwell's discussion Illustrator CC 2015 and Roland Cutstudio
"Unfortunately there is no plugin for cut studio for CC2015 yet unless you're using a mac. You can re-install CC2014 and it will work, or you can save as an .ai file version 8 or older and you will be able to bring it into Cut Studio."

James Murphy replied to KIMBERLY GLASCOCK's discussion Non Adhesive Material for BN 20
"There is no material that has no adhesive/backer that can be print and cut with the BN-20. The only thing you can do with adhesive-less/backer-less material is laser or die cut."
