My SP300V never told me the ink cartridge was empty. Could this have happened during the holidays when I was away and the machine was doing its self-cleaning? I noticed the red was printing orangey…Continue

The girl I purchased my used Roland SP300V, told me I had to leave the media lever in the down position for the auto clean to work. In other words the machine must think there is media loaded.  I…Continue

We just brought home a used SP300v. While getting it upstairs we tilted it and lost ink out of the head (I think). When I turn on the printer the display says dry up of head. What to do now? I do not…Continue

"That is why I do easy first (cleaning). The captop comes with lines to attach to the y connector. If the ink is dried in the lines from the captop to the y, the new captop will handle that, if not from the y to the pump needs to be clean also. Until…"

"Irving, I finally did get some red and yellow after pulling clogged ink from the pump lines. I still have missing bars after many cleanings. Should I keep on doing cleanings (did about 4 yesterday and a manual this morning) or just wait till the cap…"

"You know it did do something weird one day, scared me to death. I heard a nose coming from the office, went upstairs and there was a error message on the machine and I cannot even remember what it was. (Why didn't I write it down?) I think it…"

No red or yellow printing

My SP300V never told me the ink cartridge was empty. Could this have happened during the holidays when I was away and the machine was doing its self-cleaning? I noticed the red was printing orangey and then faint, so I checked the levels and had one small bar. Did a test print and it was not good on the red so I went ahead and changed the ink cartridge. Now I do not have red or yellow printing. When I did a manual clean I noticed gunked up ink in the red cap top. I have ordered a cap top and…See More

"That is so confusing. Why print the chart with one setting, then all your jobs that might be using a Roland color with another setting? What does the setting prepress even mean?"

"I changed the queue settings back to prepress after printing the chart since prepress is what I use most often."

"Found it. I guess I now have to print out a new chart! So is it my understanding that it is OK if all things in Queue A print with the "Density Control Only" setting chosen, even if you are not using the Roland Color chart?"

"Thanks Butch - off doing work. Connie it is exactly what Butch said - but it has to be done in the Queue A settings prior to selecting the chart to print. Once you set the queue up you can then open VW go to the top Media menu and select the chart…"
