Julie Szymanski said… Thank you so much for allowing me to join, I run an embroidery business, I recently added dye sublimation, a vinyl cutter and heat press a few weeks ago and now and I have just purchased my first print and cut roland machine (BN-20) and Im really looking to learn anything I can, I already have several orders which I need to use the Roland for and I have not even advertised it yet so a little overwhelmed as I have only made 1 single sticker with it so far LOL
Thanks again
Sue Walker said… Well, I must say, It's been quite sometime since we could print a 10, 12, even a 2 by 4 banner without having that banding issue! Currently printing a 4 by 10 full bleed with primarily black ink and it's as good as new. Cheers!
Guess what!!!?? It worked! Thanks a bunch! You should be proud! What a "simple relief"! But, is it as effective as a flush?
Thanks for the prompt reply! Will try that in a moment and let ya know!
Thanks again! Found that a good flush may be necessary but, clogged nozzles was brought to our attention thanks to Roland Irish III, yet we've apparently never done this in the past so, any direction on how to flush using the "cleaning liquid for Sol Ink" would be a great help considering I can't seem to find this info. in the manual!
Hey Steven, Thanks for allowing me to join! I am an employee at a promotional products company in WI, I have some but, limited knowledge about the Roland vp540i we have here and appreciate the oppurtunity in feedback etc. Banding is the issue (the only issue) currently and I have done everything in the book and more to try and kill the problem so, hopefully now that I have this network, we can move on to a "non-banding" banner printing machine! Thanks again, -James

We're currently purchasing our VersaCamm SP-540v. We've done a lot of research, and everything keeps bringing us back to the VersaCamm's. I've owned and operated Roland cutters for years and have never had an issue with any of my equipment. I'm really looking forward to using the 540.. can't wait to see it on my shop floor! ;)
All of our 'outsourced' work in the past has been printed on VersaCamm's, and I couldn't have been happier with the prints (and cuts!)
I'm looking forward to posting my experiences.. I've already learned so much from your forums. Thanks again!

Israel Lopez said… Im not sure if I want to give out that info to an Admin. I am sure you are well connected and might have me taken off the grid;). JK. Well this vendor told me that the media I sent back was not defective due to their results by their "Testing Department". As mentioned, I thought maybe I was doing something wrong after the vendor claimed the media wasnt defective. Prevouisly before being told the media was not defective, I talked to the Installer who installed our VersaCamm 540i about the issue and sent him pictures of the defects hoping he could help. After veiwing my pics, the installer didnt think it was the printer. The installer not knowing what it could be and also due to him being on the road, he passed me over to another member of his company. At this point, I am being told that it isnt my printer and that the media is not defective by the same company, this put me in a freeze not knowing what was going on. Something didnt smell right? That is why I decided to do some research on my own to prove someone was hiding something. I decided to purchase a roll of Express Print from another vendor. I asked the vendor to test the media before sending it out due to the issues I was having. The vendor ran the tests and said the media was in good shape, no defects and shipped it out to me. I received the roll the next day and did some testing myself. To my surprise, the media was NOT defective. It was not my printer or myself causing the issue. It was plain old defective media that the other insincere vendor was sending my way. Obviously the vendor was not being honest or just didnt have a clue or was trying to save his company a few hundred dollars. Whatever the case, I have lost trust in that company, mainly the customer service rep. No matter what, Stahls wins in the end no matter what because they supply other vendors of whom I will purchase Express Print from in the future. But because of the extra steps other companies like Imprintables and Wellington House took to make sure I didnt receive any defective media, put them on my good side. So now you know! Ive said too much.
JIM CALDER said… Thanks Steven for the welcome , keen to learn . As an artist /muralist ,( restricted now by disability ) our VS420 allows me to work small scale then recreate in a grander scale .
When we use our own original artwork, is it usual to build a premium into costing, or do we just have to swallow it .
Any thoughts are appreciated .
cheers
