We are printing posters on white glossy photo paper and our VP300i is running a clean during the printing of each poster.
Using the white glossy photo paper profile, max density ink and normal quality. Last week I gave the machine a good cleaning- cap stations, around the print head and cleaned both wipers to stop this, it still continues. I will admit the wiper blade is due for a replacement, as it has the felt on the back.
If we use a printable vinyl like quick print it does not do a clean during the printing.
Is this something to do with the profile for white glossy paper or something else? It's driving me crazy, not to mention wasting ink.
One thing I might add is every time we send a poster to print versaworks gives the warning there may not be enough ink of a certain color(s) for the job, do you want to proceed.
Any color it list has a fair amount of ink in the cartridge- as you can feel the when you shake the ink. I would guess at least 25% full.
Could the causing the printer to run extra cleaning because it thinks a color is low and trying to keep the line full of ink?
That has never been reported as a fact. You also can turn the warning off if you choose to.
