Ron, when is it hanging up?

On file import?

Or when you're sending the file to the printer?

What kind of file?

How big?

How complicated?

Lots of questions, huh?

It seems the most folks have trouble when attempting to send a gradient or lens or something like that. to the printer.

Have you tried flattening the image before bringing it into VW?

I am sending a tiff contour cut file containing only two words and a phone number. Created in Corel draw and then contoured, then exported to contour file folder. In VersaWorks, the file is selected from the Contour files and added to A or B.  It seems that any old file, contour cut, works fine. Anything I do now that is new, stops during the RIP around 24% to 34% completed. The only option is to abort, which then will not let me close the program or any other steps at that point. Hope this helps. File is 18" x 24" and is already converted to curves before exporting.

can you post the file or give us the file size if it is too big?

Transparencies and gradients gave me nightmares upon importing into VersaWorks. I typically convert the suspect object to raster, then re-save the EPS and bring back into VW and the problem is solved.
