Versa Studio for BN-20 Media Types ??
I am new to the world of printed media and have recently purchased a BN-20. I know there is a lot of reason to go with the 40" but seeing what I am making with it won't go much beyond 12-17" I opted for ability to print now vs waiting another few years to save to buy the bigger machine.
Anyways the guy who came and installed it was nice and we ran the updates and it says it is up to date however I only have about 6 media types in the list and cast vinyl is not one of them. I have searched and search and haven't been able to figure out which ones I should add or where to even download them from. The one on Oracals website I found said that it needed to be installed for versaworks and I have Versa Works that came with it .. anyways long story short I need to find out where to find the other media types and which ones work best for cast vinyl for skin covers etc.
Any help would be great!

do a search on this site for installing media profiles - the video will give step by step instructions for downloading and installing profiles

Unfortunately since the BN20 is still new, many manufacturers have not developed profiles for it. I will be doing some profile creation in the near future for a few of our medias on it but at this time, there are only the default ones from Roland available, For cast media I would use the GCVP for now and you should get acceptable results.

Thanks, Butch I did watch that and it helped but I think that (Admin) is right.. It is so new that there isn't a lot out there.. I used what I thought would work and it bled all over about half way through printing so I that is why I started looking into it more. I want to make cell phone covers for friends and family and everywhere I saw them said they were cast and laminated and I can't really find any support out there so that is how I found this forum.

Do you have a profile for White Static Cling? Try that to see if that works for your Cast vinyl profile when you're printing blacks next to other dark colors (like reds, etc) to prevent that bleeding. It works on my VS, so it will probably work on yours. It prints slower and has more time over the heaters, so it has a little more time for all that heavy inkload to dry before laying down more ink next to it. Steve gave me that tip, and it works well for us.
