why does one USB port work for my HP dv900 and the others do not to connect my SP-300v? they work for other things

it doesnt load the driver to read the USB for some reason
Permalink Reply by irving donaldson on November 16, 2011 at 6:33pm Not sure the issue - but I believe when the v series came out - the standard was usb 1.1 now we are in version 2.0 and think the next is knocking at the door. 2.0 cables and ports are backwards compatible so I would try a 2.0 cable and see. Unless the port is bad - that should give you the best chances of success. And yes for all others Roland switched to ethernet cables after the v series.

Permalink Reply by Peter on November 16, 2011 at 9:40pm port 1-2-3 work.. just port 3 works for printer, was just wondering if anyone came across this problem before. it seems like I am the first... usually when I plug it in it says driver being installed, this time it said driver not installed then the message went away... I can still run printer just from port 3... thanks to all who tried )
