Do I understand that you use thermal tape to hold down transfers when you are going to press them? I have a terrible time with clear solutions transfers as they want to curl with the least amount of heat, so you pre-press a garment/item and put the transfer on it and the little heat from the pre-press makes the transfer curl. Can I use the thermal tape to hold the transfer down?

Does anyone use this thermal tape and find it helpful? Is the dispenser worth $15?

You've got it! Thermal tape is used to hold a transfer in place and will remove cleanly. Would you use a roll of Scotch tape without a dispenser? It's kind of the same thing :).
Vicki,

I used to use thermal tape to hold down my Clear transfers. Now I just hold the transfer down with one hand and slide a teflon sheet over the top. The teflon sheet is heavy enough to hold the transfer down in place.

If you do decide to use the thermal tape, I would recommend getting the dispenser.
I put a fold in the clear and then place and press fast enof that it doesn't curl back up on my. I like Kevin's idea of the teflon sheet. My question is do you have to change the time, press, or heat temp with the teflon? Because now you have material inbetween the transfer and the heat press. This changes the amount of press and heat the transfer gets. I got the dispenser and did not care for it. It is to wide for the tape.
Candy, We have been using the teflon sheet and we did have to adjust the time and temperature. We added five degrees onto the temp and 3-4 seconds onto the time. I also bumped up the pressure a tiny bit, just to be sure.
