i thought these machines had a rodent sensor? really interesting considering that the machine is on a stand? usually see this kind of damage on machines (pc, radios etc.) mounted to a table or floor. stikin' rat probably smelled that eco ink.. "mmm tasty" or more like "mmm toasty!"
