I'm going to be doing canvas prints very soon, I have a question for those who have experience with this procedure, what is the best spray laminate out there and do you use gloss or matte? I'm trying to cut down on the ole learning curve and sell top quality stuff with out to much of the whoops factor.
Thanks, J Hyde

Why do you need to laminate/coat canvas? Ecosol inks will hold up for years outdoors, and if it's photoreproduction for inside use-I've been told that it is way over 10 years.
I've also had experience with solvent based clearcoats dissolving the PVC or whatever it is in the banners, leaving the surface sticky PERMANENTLY. Ruined a few handpainted banners that way. The only banners I have coated since were some with airbrushed highlights and I used Frogjuice or Clearcoat WATERBASED.

Permalink Reply by John Hyde on February 22, 2012 at 3:28pm Don't know, when Steve showed us how he does it in NY he was allowing the print to dry overnight and then spraying it the next day. My Father was a artist he did oil based landscapes and he always sprayed his finished artwork with something I don't remember, lacquer???
I use it for both an extra UV protection and also to increase the scratch resistance.
