Spandex
OK looking for advice. I have a customer who has a upscale dress shop and I do graphics for the shop and for her B-friends race car she sponsors, She wanted the race logo I made up on some of her Cami's 95cotton and 5%spandex, and she told me they wear them tight,real tight,Used Opaque and stretched it a little while pressing them, they looked good but when she put one on, Blah,looked like #%&, any ideas I remember someone here had the same issue lately but how did it turn out?, I can make clothes for her shop if I can come up with something that works on them, other than going with sublimation that I can't afford right now,??? It has to be real nice, I just got into rhinestone's but it's not enough?? Any info would be appreciated a whole lot.

Is it possible to put the design in a spot that doesn't get as much stretch/distortion? If not then I'm afraid that sublim may be your best option if the opaque image was too distorted. You may be able to contract out the sublim. Rhinestones may be a solution if you make the spacing close enough so that when the image is stretched it still looks good. My concern there would be will the stones pop when the fabric is so stressed? I know next to nothing about rhinestones so maybe someone else could weigh in on that option.

No the distortion is the desired effect, we all know why, was trying to stay in house, maybe a very loose design with lots of gaps and places for stretch and rebound and the stones to make up for the lack of substance? have to try something, not much work, can't say no and survive.

I am pretty sure rhinestones will not stay on spandex too well - especially when it stretches.

I was hoping it being only 5% spandex I might have a chance, but don't need them popping off might put someones eye out!!

I've used this material before for some uv arm sleeves and have put them through saltwater, bleaches all other cleaning agents. But the material is still looking new, the media suggested could be CADT CUT 'Solutions Opaque' which have great durablility.
