Does anyone know if you can put Seramark on a vehicle then take it off after a week or so and then put it back on again?
I have a customer that wants to put his sign on his truck on Monday and take it off on Friday and back again on Monday.
He does not want to use magnets.
I am thinking of spray lam for added protection.
He doesn't need a sign all the time so I thought this might be easy enough for him to apply and reapply himself but thought I should ask here before I sell it to him

It does come off but I don't think you would be able to do it too many times without distorting the shape and or getting dirt and stuff on the adhesive. He would have to save the backing also. I wouldn't do it. Static cling inside the windows?

If they still have it, Fellers sells or sold a vehicle magnet material, "Car Safe". 24"x 50' roll. It has what appears to be a clear laminate on the magnetic side, white vinyl front. The clear keeps it from sticking to paint. I'm getting ready to order more-customers love it and it has held up (the last roll I bought in 08) so far!

You cannot run it through the Versacamms-it's 30 mil. Just print on white vinyl and apply to the magnet. I also go over that with clear laminate and the magnets stay nice and clean longer.

He wants to keep it on for approx 8 months at a time, but during that 8 months he might want to remove it for whatever reason that is why I was thinking of Seramark, i figured it would be easier to remove than vinyl and remove cleaner.

He cant use magnets in boston because of the parking issues the police give tickets to commercial vehicles that dont have permanent signage. I never heard of this but that is what he tells me.

I have used it for this application a few times. As stated - the vehicle must be clean and retain the carrier. It does stretch so the small the better.

Bob - We have had several customers use Seramark for very similar purposes - one was a car dealership that wanted temporary signs on the vehicles. Works like a charm.

Ok the original post said he wants to remove it on weekends and reapply it on Mondays Don't think it would hold up  twenty or thirty times, but a few times in eight months why not it's great stuff.

I have personally removed and reapplied Seramark over 100 times during our testing phase. It didn't look pretty after the 100th time but it did work.

I stand corrected. I have not tried that many times myself,,touche'  ,,  :-)

Initially that is what I thought he wanted to do but upon further discussion he only wants to remove occasionally.

The size is approx. 18 x 12 oval to fit on the rear door panel of extended cab pick up.

Should I laminate?

Now I hope I can sell him enough to warrant purchasing a whole roll!!

I've had some on both sides of my truck for over six months and it still looks like new.  No laminate and I haven't tried to remove it.  I figure when the time comes I'll remove it and toss it, or at least part of it.  The only thing I've found about Seramark is sometimes it ravels on the cut edges.  It's usually just a string that must be clipped.
