It's about that time of the year where our demand for printing on the SP300i is not needed, therefore the printer sits idle for a month or two... Its almost almost been about a month since I've been on the printer printing off some stuff, and recently found in my test print that the Yellow was running into the Magenta. The first thing I did was put the Printer through a basic Normal Clean. I ran off another print test and all came back to normal =)
I've gotten into a routine of running a basic test print check every week to make sure that the printer is ready when needed.

Permalink Reply by DanielTF3 on August 2, 2012 at 7:05pm It's been only 5~6 months ago since we replaced the captop... So you're saying that these captops don't last long? If it's something that only requires a good clean wouldn't that help solve the problem? I don't fully understand when you're saying that the captop is going bad. Teach me pls =)
Permalink Reply by Steven Jackson - Admin on August 3, 2012 at 5:29am Cap tops are rated for 6 months but if you clean and maintain them properly, they wil last much longer. it is an easy to replace part and not very expensive so it is always a good place to start when trouble shooting. It is also the highest cause of problems as it is sort of like an artery for us - the ink must flow properly through the cap top to keep the machine running right :)
