I finished setting up the Imprintables booth at ISA in Las Vegas and had a chance to go visit the Roland booth and get a sneak peek of the new Roland BN-60 20" VersaCAMM that is being unveiled tomorrow. There have been tons of rumors on it and the machine they have here is a prototype but I was able to get a few pictures that will be shared here.
Basics:
Under $8000 - final price still not set
20" print and cut area
Metallic ink option
Matching laminator (separate cost est $1200 range)
1440 x 720 dpi
Table top size
There will be more to come as the week goes by so stay tuned!

CMYK plus metallic
1440 x 1440
includes Versaworks
only 10sqft an hour speed
matching laminator at around $1200
no stand included or made
integrated print and cut
max of 20" area
There will be a MAC plugin!
USB driven
Price...... Still only saying sub $8000 but we will keep trying to get a final one to you.
Overall I think it is a great unit with good potential in certain markets. The vast majority of you on the forum here with a printer already would be disappointed in the slow print speed. The only advantage would be the metallic ink if you do not have that. Already there are many vendors looking to source 20" material for decals, posters etc. I think this will be a great unit for the garment and kiosk industries and has a solid base there. I am not going to do a vehicle wrap with one of these though!
I will post updates as I get them for you.

Also go well with my GX-24 cutter.
probably be around 10-12K here in Aust, even with the strong dollar.
Roland have indicated that at the trade show in Sydney next week all will be revealed.
I await...:)

These will be ready to order on 23rd May for AUD$7,000.

Permalink Reply by Simon Rose on May 14, 2011 at 8:24am Not a dumb question at all... I wanted to know this as well.
Roland website shows media size accepted is 20" (500mm) and print size is 18.9" (480mm).
Thank you for the answer. May I ask where you found those specs? My google-force is apparently weak today. All I'm finding on Roland's website is this teaser: http://www.rolanddga.com/products/printcut/bn/
Searching their site directly ("BN-20") returns quite a few results, however I'm not finding anything directly related to the printer - it looks like they are getting a lot of the back end SEO set up ahead of the content actually appearing. What I'm looking for now is the physical dimensions of the overall unit.
