A Digital Printing Network

Is it normal for the RIP process to still take an absolute age (15+ mins for a 2 metre long file) when all I need to do is a simple cut of coloured vinyl? (i.e. no printing).

I can certainly understand it taking a little while if I am doing a huge print, but this is just computer cut lettering and nothing more. My old GX-24 would belt out cuts with zero wait time, whereas the VS-540 has me waiting an eternity for some very simple text cuts.

in VW set your job for cut only, this should speed it up

I was experiencing the issues above whilst in Cut Only mode.

I did some experimenting and putting the media profile into Generic 1 and quality to lowest settings resulted in a 90% reduction in RIP time.

another thing you can do is pick no fill from your color palette instead of a color, if that is what you are doin, VW would only see cut lines then

....and another thing
make sure you don't have tons of excessive nodes that VW needs 'time' to calculate
