A Digital Printing Network

Just got a Versacamm into our shop and have tried both of these rolls.  Quickprint seems to weed a lot easier and does not wrinkle up as much when cutting and weeding.  We are thinking of using the Quickprint for an order with 100% polyester shirts.  Will the Quickprint hold?

The reason I am not using the Opaque for the 100% polyester shirts is because the Opaque wrinkles up way too much in the design I am using.  I suppose I could try contouring the design to round out the points, but I'm still not sure if that would work.

Any general suggestions about when to use Opaque vs. Quickprint as far as fabrics, ease of weeding and size or shape of the designs would be very helpful.

-Thanks, Eric

Eric,

I personally don't like using Opaque because of the problems with weeding. To minimize the curling, you may want to try cutting your design first, then printing. Checkout this thread for more information on this process.

I have used Quickprint on dry fit shirts with no problems. Opaque would probably be a better choice because of its stretchability, but the problems with weeding steers me back to Quickprint.

I HAVE BEEN USEING VIVID PRINT INSTEAD OF OPAQUE FOR ALL MY STUFF. I AM LOCATED IN A SPORTS STORES SO I DO A LOT OF HOCKEY JERSEYS. THESE ARE DOMINATLY 100% POLYESTER. I HAVE BEEN DO IT FOR ALMOST A YEAR AND HAVE NOT HAD ANY JERSEYS COME BACK. I KNOW THAT THEY SUJESTED THAT I USE OPAQUE BUT I DON'T LIKE WORKING WITH IT! I BELIVE THE VIVID PRINT AND QUICKPRINT ARE VERY SIMILAR. MY BIG POINT IT THAT HOCKEY PLAYERS DO NOT TAKE CARE OF THE EQUIPMENT AND I HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS!

Eric,

The Quickprint will work fine on your 100% poly, as well as 100% cotton and blends. If your comfortable with it, by all means use it. It is a little less expensive and easier to work with. You should use Solutions Opaque on Nylons and items that require stretch and rebound.
