A Digital Printing Network

So I am working on some Alleson polyester cationic colorfast tricot mesh (aka Extreme mesh) and I was looking to use my Versacamm for the job. The jerseys are balck and when I tried to print one with Opaque I was happy to find that I didn't have any bleeding going on, but the letters peeled right off the jersey! Any one know what is going on there? I have a hunch that since the mesh has some kind of treatment to it, that is what is causing the lettering not to stick. Will opaque work on other polyester tricot mesh that isn't treated? Do I need to try another type of print like sub-block?

Any suggestions would help.

-Thanks, Eric

Try sub-block - it is meant for the polyester blends and will prevent the bleeding you have with the opaque...
Eric,

My understanding is that Opaque is suppose to adhere to any fabric. Is this a new roll of Opaque? It maybe a case of a bad roll of vinyl. If you have another vinyl like Quick Print you might want to try pressing that to see whether you have the same problem.

Tried Quickprint and it did the same thing. I am going to look futher into the matter of the opaque and try sub-block. I will post the further adventures of this matter as I proceed.-Eric
Eric,

On another thread you mentioned having problems with Stretchprint and Opaque adhering to wrestling gear. May be your problem may be with your heat press. Have you checked to make sure it's heating up to the proper temperature? I ocassionally use one of those laser temperature readers to check to make sure my heating press is heating to the temperature I have it set at.
I would agree with Kevin that it might be an issue with the actual pressing of the garment. We have used stretch print and opaque solutions on many different garments including very stretchy fabrics with no issues. It is designed to work with those garments. I would do some testing with your heat press and see if you are not using enough temperature and or pressure.

Steven
Thanks for the responses. It is a newer heat press and we have never had any problems with it before when using thermo-film and thermo-grip. Today I got in some Colorprint and that seemed to go on the jersey fine.
