Most special is that you can't read, or do they disclose their restrictions prior to purchase!  You get that treat when you unseal it from the shrink wrap and open the book, 2 pages of size 6 font. Awesome!
Great discussion - I know that there are a lot of things you can do for your own use, but once you start selling - you have ventured into another territory.  I have googled and started with an online image but it is usually unrecognizable when I am finish.  You cannot repurpose logo stuff and resell and not expect it to be address - especially if it is successful.  The school will thank you for introducing a new idea for them and will be sorry for any inconvenience when they make lots of money.

I don't copy the images exactly but alter them as Irv does.  As many have brought up here, buying graphics doesn't always guarantee you unlimited usage.  Today everyone wants to sue you for anything they can.  I'm not against anyone making money off their sweat and talent.  But, if you put it up for sale then you should expect it to be used in any manner needed.  To me it's like if you buy a car but then find out you can only drive it on Tuesday and Thursday.

As far as grabbing a low resolution image from the web, if you redraw it then you are really not using their original art are you?  You are doing the actual work of making the point to point drawing.  You are only using their low res art as a guide.  Much like many teachers and artists have done for years when using an overhead projector to make an image to size then retracing it.  Make sense?
