I've only seen this offered by Roland for $549 and the locations are always too far from me: http://www.rolanddga.com/training/workshops/detail.aspx?cid={20a337...
Avery and Mutoh have a 2 day course for slightly less expensive at $459: http://na.averygraphics.com/AvGrNA_avery_wrap_school.asp
Then 3M offers one day training for about $350: http://solutions.3mcanada.ca/wps/portal/3M/en_CA/CommGraphics/Home/...
Has anyone taken a vehicle wrap course? Any recommendations?
Permalink Reply by Bob Maggio on April 5, 2012 at 6:58pm I took the one Steve had last year, It was the only one I found close to me that used Roland printers and Corel draw as design software. Most of the classes offered other than roland use different printers and most if not all use photo shop and illustrator so if you're like me and use Corel you kind of miss out on the design / output part of the course.
I also tried calling all the local wrap installers and offered to work for free on some of there jobs most did not respond and those that did said no!
It's kinda funny I have been a carpenter and contractor for over 30 years and not one person has ever offered to work for free to learn what I know, I would have gladly accepted if any had !!

Good point of mentioning the software and printer used in the training. I didn't even think of that part - I was thinking more about the hands on part on vehicle but the workflow and printing may be a bigger factor in learning how to set-up the print jobs.
I like your idea about offering to work for free. The fact that everyone said no is too bad. Maybe they were concerned about helping the competition?
Once I become an expert you can come to Canada for a visit and help me for free ;-)

I am working on getting the dates set for two classes this year. I hope to have them either set this week or next week and will be sure to post them for everyone. The class will be at the the Seaglass location in Clifton Park NY and Tom Ewing will be assisting again this time. It was a VERY successful class for all last time and I am sure some of the attendees will be glad to give testimonials as to how it went.
