Good afternoon,

Went to do a banner and it is all messed up, have not had any issues and have been printing canvas and banners everyday, what is causing this to look like this on all colors?

Thanks

Teresa

possibly a clogged capping station - what model do you have? Magenta is usually the problem child with clogging.
sp-540. how would I check that if it is the capping station

if you have not been cleaning the capping station with cleaning fluid on a regular basis, I would almost definitely say that is the culprit. Try filling the capping stations with solvent cleaning solution and letting it set for a bit. Then do a cleaning and run a test print.

If it does not work, order a new capping station and replace it.

Thanks so much

I will give that a try

Thanks for all the quick replies, it is great to know there is a group to help other out

Hi Teresa, I had the same problem. Apparently magenta inks sometimes cause this. The pipe below the capping station gets blocked ( some 3rd party inks are worse than others) If you take of the panel below the capping station you will see the four colored pipes. Take them off one at a time and attach a syringe to them. pull some ink trough. This clears the blockage (hopefully). If that doesn't work or you can't pull ink trough, you will need to change the pipe. If that works but the problem persists, Try flushing the ink lines from the ink cartridge to clean out the system. It sounds complex, but once you take a look it's largely common sense. Hope all goes well

Try this if you feel confident. Set the machine to manual clean. Remove the pump access panel. Locate the area where the cap lines connect to the t just before the pump. Place a cloth in this area to catch any drips. Remove the line from the t  that is connected to the cap that is giving the problem. Connect a syringe to this line. Pour a small amount of claening solution into the cap, draw the syringe until clear or light color solution appears in the syringe. This could take several tries. Reconnect the line to the t. If needed repeat steps for all caps.

Watch time closely. I think 30 minutes is the max time you want to leave the heads exposed during cleaning

Works for me when I encounter similar problems.
