I've recently made the switch to ONYX 12 and I've noticed the media is not advancing forward when pressing sheet cut as when I was printing in VW. There was a noticeable difference of about 1" at the end of my prints. My workaround is advancing the media forward before sheet cutting. This extra space at the end of the prints are for taping the sheets of laminate before my production guys send this through our laminator. We print and laminate MOST of our vinyl.
Is there a function that I'm not aware of on the printer or in onyx that will advance the media forward 1" before sheet cutting? Maybe this is a function that advances the media forward after the print is finished?
I know it sounds like a small issue but when we're going full steam ahead with printing it's an issue my production guys noticed when they're laminating huge prints.
I have a Versacamm vs-540i running ONYX 12 and printing on 3M IJ35c-10 (I love this vinyl, much better than the oracal...3M WITH air release!)
Thanks for your time
In VW on the Printer Controls Tab - you can set the distance you want there in MM
If you do it under the Edit tab in the Queues it will be for all jobs in one shot
I'm not printing with VW any longer, I am printing in ONYX. VW cant handle the transparencies and color matching so we switched to a professional RIP. Is there a setting on the printer itself that I may be missing?
