A Digital Printing Network

Hello,  we have had our vp-540 for almost three years with very little maintainence needed. Lately however our black is not laying down consistantly, even after a good auto clean. I have heard about a way a manual way of soaking the heads, Any advice. The whole left side of the black print head isn't firing. After doing a cleaning half or more fires, seems clogged.

Any advice is very much appreciated.

Thank You

Rick,

Try filling your capping station with cleaning fluid. It helps if the bottle which holds your cleaning fluid has a pointed spout. I have an SP300 so I only have two capping stations. I believe your machine has four. I go through this process every time I do a manul cleaning, which is about every 10 days. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the response, I needed to hear that other people do this procedure with no harm to the machine. have you heard or tried putting cleaning fluid in a small cap and holding it under the heads with the solution only touching the head.

Rick,
Wondering if this worked out for you, having the same problem.
Thanks,
John
Hi John,

We ended up bying a new print head. Sorry the news isn't better.

Rich - how is the new printhead working out for you? It is a mute point now but I have heard about the cleaning fluid to the head, but you can also do what Kevin stated and put it in the capping stations and then seat the heads. When you stated you did a good cleaning you are saying the powerful cleaning, right? VP series have 4 heads and SP series have two heads.
