We recently had that happen with a cartridge. IW told me no way to get around it. Couldn't even cut vinyl. Thank goodness we had a Roland dealer 45 mins away. I ran over there and bought a replacement.
Thank you John... we will just have to wait it out.
I don't know about you but I don't recall even getting a low ink warning. All of a sudden it was out.
Jane did you hit the enter button. If you do and the machine continues then you know - when it is out of ink it will start and wait for you to replace the cartridge. I run with the low ink warning for a while - when you get the signal it is time to start carrying one on hand.
How long do Inks sit on the shelf. Do they evaporate when they are not open?
I keep a backup of each color on hand at all times (except last month-in the middle of a large run I forgot I had used my backup cyan!) and have had some of them for over 6 mnths before using them. Sealed in the package, and also sealed in the cartridge-they aren't going to evaporate on you....order TWO of each one when you run out so you always have that backup!
