Has anyone used Eco-Print ? How does it compare with Quick Print?

My two cents on this.....Quick Print does very well for most applications.  It's more expensive than Roland's HTM2 which also does the job.  QP weeds much easier than HTM2 but I think it is the difference in the weight of the material and backing.  Feel on a shirt is about the same I'd say.  Durability seems to be similar so far.  I guess if I had a lot of fine weeding or much text on a shirt I'd go with the QP for its weed ability.
Did some eco today - I did some with profile for quick print and some with profile for TTRH - both printed about the same on my VP540. I must say it is not bad.  I will report further down the road.

I've got something to add! I think that the Quick Print is a great product, I don't mind weeding it, and as far as I have tested, the longevity of the colors after washing is very good. It's major downfall is the SLOOOOOOOW print speed. I had a job for 3 table cloths, although the images were large (roughly 16" x 40") I thought that it's 10 HOUR print time was a total waste and I wish I hadn't taken the job.

Are there other settings or profiles that can be used to speed up printing on quick print? Any suggestions from anyone with experience?

Don't know what machine your using but with the VS profiles the standard profile for QP head speed is 304mm/sec and the revised 6 color profile is 760mm/sec much faster but DON'T change your head speed, don't know why it's different but it is what it is,could be for the metallic and white inks? and you could have ran that long job overnight if your comfortable with that. I have with no issues.

John, the two profiles you are talking about are both for the VS with an 8 color setup. The faster one is optimized to only use the 6 channels vice the other that is setup to use the MT and white if so desired. That makes all the difference in speed!

Brett - I think we may be able to speed yours up a bit but I believe you have the dual CMYK setup? If not, let me know and the 6 channel profiles will be much faster for you.

Steve you never cease to amaze me. My machine (VersaCamm 640) is currently set up for the white and MT.

Any advice that would speed this up at all would be awesome! I know all about printing over night, but it's still a waste of 10 machine hours! I can print 20 banners in that time.

Other than this things are going very well, thanks to your guidance.

Thanks!

Not sure if you are using the newer profiles or the old ones. Download the VS profiles in the dowload section for them here - you are looking for the ones for the VS640 with this setup: CMYK Lc Lm white metallic (non white and metallic use) Configuration profiles - they will run much faster as it only works the CMYK Lc Lm and not the white and metallic channels.

Hope this helps!

The new print profile for the Quick Print saved 75% print time! We set up a file to run, before we changed the profile it took 211 minutes. After changing the profile it took just about 50 minutes! How can I find out about new profiles sooner? Do you usually post them on this forum?

Anyway, thanks again for the help, I'm much less frustrated by Quickprint now.

WOW!!! That is a huge time savings. I post the profiles on this forum and will be sending them here first for all future ones. The best way to find them is check back from time to time and let me know on specifics you need. I am working on the BN20 series right now and then it will be on to the Arlon medias for all printers after that.

Haven't heard anything recently about the Solutions Opaque profile issue.

I still got you on my radar Dennis - we will be talking soon and a visit as well :)

Not only speed but in my opinion it uses less Metallic and White inks also, when it cleans before printing I think it cycles the specialty inks and flushes a small amount out, with the new profiles with out Mt,Wt it doesn't or not as much. Go ahead Steve gimme both barrels !!!!!  I may be wrong, ain't the first time!!!
