Having an issue with CorelDRAW X4, as the title implies. Nothing too big, just kind've annoying. When I use a color from the Roland Color Library palette, whether it's a fill or a stroke, it doesn't show up in the "Enhanced" and "Enhanced With Overprints" views, but shows up fine in the "Normal" view. When I saw it doesn't show up, I mean the object or stroke appears white instead of the Roland color I chose, not transparent. This happens with all the Roland colors, not just specific ones. Is there any way to fix this?
As for the Color Management settings, and the export settings for .eps and .pdf files, how should these be setup? Right now everything in Color Management is on the default settings, pretty much all defaults on the export settings as well. A video or some screenshots of someone else's settings would be great, but I'll take whatever advice I can get.

1) you haven't converted the file into a bitmap format image or object
2) desktop color filtration software which helps define colors on screen and real-life
3) postscript level maybe also causing an issue with color which is been shown on screen
Permalink Reply by Mike F on January 25, 2012 at 10:37am I appreciate the response, but I don't think you quite understood what I was saying. In the first paragraph, I was explaining that when I use colors from the Roland Color Library palette in Corel, I can't see them on the screen when using the "Enhanced" and "Enhanced with Overprints" views, but they show up fine under the "Normal" view. I was wondering why this was and if there was any way to fix it. In the second paragraph, I was just asking what everyone uses for their Color Management settings and their export settings for PDF and EPS files.
Permalink Reply by irving donaldson on January 25, 2012 at 12:46pm Daniel converting to bitmap is not the answer here. Mike - ensure you brought the palette into corel correctly. Ver 3 n 4 has a specific way to bring in - while Ver 5 is part of the program and you just turn on. As for the numbers - place a X in front and these are the versions I am referring to. If you are sure the palette is loaded in the right place; and the document how how to load the palette is not in our download section. Just let me know yes in right folder and no not in download section. I am traveling so I will check and see if I have a copy of the pdf to send you. You must be a Illy user for you are using the term stroke for outline, not to worry - this can be fixed.
Permalink Reply by Mike F on March 14, 2012 at 5:44pm Irv, I swear, every time I remember this topic and go to check Corel, it refuses to start. It's been giving me problems for the past 6 months or so (Draw and PhotoPaint will both load all the way to the welcome screens, then freeze when I try to create a new document or open anything), and since I don't use it very much and can handle most stuff with Inkscape and GIMP I haven't really been aggressive at figuring out how to fix it. Just posted on the Corel forums trying to get some assistance with the issue so as soon as I get it straightened out I'll report back.
Permalink Reply by irving donaldson on March 14, 2012 at 5:58pm I had to go back and catch up on the post - woosh - a blast from the past. Ok new trick - if you remember where you keep your files if other than the traditional save area. Close your corel or if close - open while holding the F8 key - that should generate a re-initialization of the program. It will be similar to how we reset VC when it gets quirky. Hopes this works.

Permalink Reply by Mike F on March 15, 2012 at 4:09pm OK Irv, sorta got the issue with Corel freezing straightened out, at least enough to use it today. Here's my process for importing the palette... Window > Color Palettes > Open Palette, then I open the one from C:\Program Files\Roland Versaworks\Swatch\CorelDraw\roland_userinks.cpl
There's another .cpl in there just titled userinks.cpl, but that gives me the same issue of the colors not showing up in the design when using Enhanced and Enhanced With Overprints viewing modes.
The guide is not in the downloads section by the way.

Permalink Reply by Butch on March 15, 2012 at 5:20pm I don't believe the Roland colors will appear in Enhanced with over prints bcause of the post script color issue. You can get them to show up in enhanced by going to tools, options, display and making sure show ps fills in enhanced view is checked, also check use enhanced view in full screen.
Permalink Reply by Mike F on March 15, 2012 at 5:34pm I actually have both of those boxes checked Butch, but thanks for the suggestion. Standing by Irv, only here for another hour though and it's not that big of an issue so don't stress about it tonight if you're busy. I do appreciate you guys taking time out to help, I'm sure you've all got more important (and higher paying) things to do than give free tech support
Permalink Reply by irving donaldson on March 15, 2012 at 5:39pm Still in search for that high paying thingy you mentioned - so you are working a half day - hey - okay check your mail - sent you two things to consider in your solution - hope it helps - get back if no luck.
