If the versacamm runs out of one color of ink during a big job that requires cutting will it resume the job after replacement or is the whole job shot?

It should resume when you replace the ink cartridge. The only issue I had w/ losing my work was when my computer crashed during printing. Only so much data is sent to the printer at a time. The machines don't have much memory, which is sad.
Page 43 of my VersaCAMM manual says: "When ink runs out, a warning beep sounds and printing pauses (unless the default settings have been changed). Pull out the empty cartridge and insert a new one. Printing resumes." I read that to mean the job should continue after the ink cartridge is replaced.
it does many times and sometimes you have to go go click on the screen the little box thing that comes up. I have never had an issue w/ it messing stuff up. Only time was when I was almost done w/ a full color banner and computer crashed. I was Sooooooooooooooo mad
Most of the tim, if you let it run out ompletely, you are going to get a lighter area on your print where it stopped printing then resumed again. Just ruined a panel this way on a wrap we are doing on a monster truck. We find it best to not let the cartridge run out completely if we are in the middle of a solid print.

I have never had the lighter area happen and hope it does not! Over the many cartridges that I have replaced mid job, it will pause the job once the sensor sees that the cartridge is empty (it will indicate prior to going dry) and then resume once the cartridge is replaced. You may have to address it on your computer as it will time out waiting for the printer but just tell it to resume.

hope this helps

We do resume, it only is noticable on dark solid prints. it's light but still there. i talked to our rep about it being a calibration issue but he said it is a unfortunarte part of it. I hope there is a way for this not to happen.

thanks for the reply

Rick
