How to get the best economical usage of Drain Bottles which are Full on a (VersaCamm SP-300i)

I'm looking for methods and techniques on how to clean and re-use my Ink Drain Bottle. Does anybody have suggestions or methods they have been using to be able to re-use Ink Drain Bottles?

Daniel, I am confused.  What ink bottles are you referring to???  My system uses cartridges which I thought was the standard, and I can't imagine being able to reuse them.  Can you be a little more specific or send a picture of what you are talking about?

thanks,

Kathy Mac

Sorry, i meant Drain Bottles for the correct term. I am just after some methods which people would tried other than what is said in the manual on how to clean and get rid of the Drain bottles.

Well I must be doing something wrong, because I was under the impression that you just empty the drain bottles into some paper towels or newspapers, let them dry, and then you can dispose of the dried papers in the normal trash and go on your merry way.  I then just simply screw back in the bottle.

Kathy

Daniel, as you can see from the replies you got on your blog post, as well as here, we're all confused

You're going to have to try to explain more specifically what you're talking about if you expect anyone to try and give you an answer

It sounds like you're trying to reuse the ink in your plastic waste bottle........you wouldn't be even considering doing something like that, would you???

Again, as I mentioned before, ink cost/consumption on our VC's aren't near what they are on desktop printers
Okay, you must have been trying to clarify at the same time I was trying to reply
Our posts crossed in cyber space

Now it really does sound like you want to try and reuse whatever contaminated yuck collects in that drain bottle and use it as ink again
That can't be what you are asking, can it?

Defintely NOT. But I was just wondering what other methods people are using to clear out and reuse the drain bottle... Like they say, "There is more than one way to skin a cow" I'm just after different methods.

like I said, poor it into towels or newspaper, let dry  and throw away.   I swish a little of the cleaning fluid in the bottle to make it look better but that's it.  Am I doing something wrong???

Kathy

no its all cool. That's all i wanted to know. Sorry i kinda stuffed up before with my forum and blog questions.... But hey that's all part of my learning. Its been a while since i've been on a forum or blog since high school, so... yeah it's kinda getting back to me now. =)

I am after methods on how to reuse the Drain Bottles.

I recently had some issues with my SP-300i before last Christmas break, where all of my ink nozzles weren't firing up properly, so i decided to call in one of our technicians. it worked out all good. But hey, i want to keep costs on this printer down. So I am quite confident, that a tutorial online or instruction manual would be cool if i can replace some parts of the printer which i have now. Does anybody know if there are spare parts being sold on this site? any other suggestions i'm more than willing to learn from those sites.

I also do have times where i'd learn on the spot while watching the technician replace parts of the printer.

@Kathy - yes you are doing something wrong - stop wasting cleaning fluid swishing your drain bottle which is just going to get dirty right away. Save the swishs for my next visit - I will bring my unused 2nd drain bottle to collect the swishes. As to the questions for whether this site sell parts - a Big No - Do we provide service manuals - a Bigger no. We intend on keeping this site sanctioned by Roland by not violating any of their requirements. With that said, you do have the benefit of have certified technicians which freely answer your questions and guide you through user replacement parts. We also kindly redirect misguided advice by members when we catch it. There are training classes that are hosted for a cost on this site and you can probably contract services on this site, but that would be the extent. Feel free to visit the video section or the download section for free stuff to help you, get, stay or improve your profieciency.
