How can you tell how many hours a Roland Versacamm printer has been used?

Is there a counter or some other way of telling how many hours of service the printer has on it?

I am purchasing a used Versacamm and the owner seems to have taken great care of it and changed a number of parts including the heads, dampers, and pump.

The owner says it work and is in excellent condition.

Since the printer is located over a 1,000 miles away I have not seen other then in pictures.

I have asked for a test print along with all the records of when each part was changed and who changed it.

They also have the crate and packing it came with and said they will flush the ink heads and secure them in place before moving the printer.

Next problem is shipping the printer and which company to trust to handle it with care.

I will insure the printer for it's for value just in case there is a problem.

What else should I be looking for that I have not thought of?

Thanks Jim

you can print a system report...i can't remember what exactly that tells you. As far as shipping, there are a number of different companies to choose from...just do as you said...insure it.

You might want to get the serial number and actually call roland about it. see if they have any history of repairs or damage to the unit as well.
