Hi Jay,

I use the GCVP profile, and have yet to have any problems. You might want to give it a try.

Kevin
Also try MCVP - I have found that it works a lot of the time pretty well with static cling
I'm new here and still trying to sort out different substrates and different processes.
I'm a graphic artist/teacher by trade but I've been in the art production/screenprinting/professional embroidery business for more years than I care to count.

A question on Static Cling....................
Does anyone have a source for a product similar to FloodCoat White that will adhere properly to clear static cling without the use of a hot-roll laminator?
Do you suppose that a regular white calandered vinyl will accomplish the same task?
One of my upcoming projects is a rather large uniform area of color (22x28") on clear static cling.
Without the ability to print white, I'm not 100% satisfied with the translucency factor, especially for such a large surface area.

TIA for any help

Diane
I have always had success with applying white static cling to the inside of windows. I have a 5 foot by 3 foot design in the front window of our shop right now. No need for flood coat or applying any other substrate to the back of the design!
Have you tried any low tac vinyls?  Personally I prefer them to static clings. They tend to look nicer when applied ( no air bubbles) and they don't cause the print quality issues that you can sometimes get with static like the little ink drops that splatter due to static build up as  the media goes across the plate.
ah, thanks Lucas.............I hadn't thought about a low-tac vinyl. That just may be a viable alternative.
I guess I'm concerned about the graphic on the clear substrate looking too 'washed out" so I was searching for something to help it POP.

Hmmm.................the more I think about it, the more I think your low-tac solution may be exactly what I need.

Thank you.
Very much!

Diane
Are these being view from the inside or outside?
Thanks everyone for the help. They are being viewed from the outside. Tried white static cling but customer did not like the idea his dealers would have to use water to install. So now we are printing clear in reverse and then backing it up with white vinyl. The printer is running STD and in uni directional. It takes me 12 hours to print one roll. I am on my 3 rd as of now. 1 more to go for Friday dead line. 2000 pieces. Wish me luck as it is 103am printer will stop at 530am will load up last roll and print tell 300pm.
