A Digital Printing Network

I searched for this, applied what I read, and still can't get it, maybe I'm dense.

All I'm trying to do is figure out the CutContour mojo.

I have added the color in swatches, just as I've read. I've applied it in the 32 different ways I've read about and still nothing.

I'm using a VP540, Versaworks s/w. I use Illustrator CS4 for my design software.

I have done a simple design, and want to contour cut the outside boarder, a simple rounded corner rectangle.

I usually pick things up immediately, so this is a bit frustrating.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Josh

Josh,

Open Versaworks, click on the Help menu option. Do a search on cutcontour (one word). In the list of topics select "Creating Cut Data". There is a step by step description for the setup in both Illustrator and CorelDraw.

I figured it out. I just saved the .eps file as an earlier cs2 file and it worked. Apparently the issue was CS4
I have had issues in CS4 as well. It appears that if the cutcontour line is selected or highlighted when you save it as the eps to drop into versaworks, it will not read the cut line. Make sure the cut contour line is not selected then save as eps. Drop into versaworks & it should work fine.
