We just received an inquiry to print a 4'x5' chart to hang on the wall, in which the customer will be using a marker on. Anyone know of material that works with eco-solvent ink and is dry-erase friendly that I can use?

Thanks!

Hi Thomas,

You might want to look into Wypet. This is a laminate which is design for dry erase use. The laminate itself is not printable, but it is made to go over printed material. I have never used this myself, but I know of others that have, and they have been happy with their results. Fellers carries it.
Hi Kevin,

That's a good idea. I was actually looking at a glossy vinyl removable wall material I have right now that would not need any laminate. We do not have a laminator here but we could outsource it.. Thanks for the idea.

Thomas,
Imprintables has both the dry erase laminate and the white printable dry erase material. I have a chunk of both on my wall and use them for the exact purpose that your customer is looking for. So far , 1 month plus, they are both working great!
Does the dry erase material have adhesive on the back?
yes it does. I am also testing a new material for IW that is dry erase, printable, and removable like wall graphic material. I just did a print and application today. So far, so good!
Hmm...wonder if I could use that to decorate my metal lunch boxes instead of the Oracal. Kids/moms could write messages on the material then. Interesting. :)
Does the white printable dry erase material have issues with using solvents to clean the surface? What based dry-erase markers can be used with it?

Steve, what sizes and prices are we looking at?

Thanks
Thomas,
I will look into it further but I only see one size available on the list right now:

DuraSol Clear Dry Erase Laminate 54" 50yd Clear $174.50

I can tell you that I have used expo brand markers and then some other cheap markers on it, used different chemicals to clean on it and then also just wiped it and had no issues so far. I have had them up for at least a month and the boards we did get used constantly every day.
I'm seeing some interesting uses for this material.  I know you'll keep us informed.
