Just wondering  how many of you out there belong to ASI? And if so, what benefits do you see from having a membership?

we do but I don't know much about it. Maybe I can get Jen to reply as she works with it all the time.
We do belong and it is definitely worth it. I have heard that it is more expensive than the PPAI and I dont know how the two compare...We have been happy with ASI and it has definitely added more to our business. It is a small percentage of our sales, but nevertheless a good profit....
Is it mostly a place to receive referrals or do you also find that you receive valuable discounts from vendors because you're a member?
With ASI I haven't received referrals from them. With membership we receive discounted pricing on promotional products. We also connect to their general website from our site allowing customers to search thousands of products. They offer custom printed catalogs which we do get from them each year. They have different levels of membership as well. We do receive discounts from UPS and a few other vendors b/c we are ASI members.....
Ok, great news! Thank you!
Wendy,

We canceled our membership about a year ago and just stayed with PPAI. We don't do too much in the way of promotional products, so we didn't use their ESP search feature much. I have a friend that uses SAGE and he seems pretty happy with it. SAGE has a search feature like ESP.
Kevin, do you still get UPS discounts and stuff like that with PPAI? We probably won't do a ton of promotional products, so we're feeling this all out.
Wendy,

I believe PPAI has an agreement with FedEx. I'm not really sure about the amount of the discounts.

Most of our clients are local, so we very rarely ship any of our local jobs. Out of town/state jobs are just mailed via USPS. Most of our supplies are shipped free (Sanmar, Alpha Shirt Co., Fellers, Ryonet, etc.) Whatever we would have saved in shipping costs would not have made up for the difference in the annual dues.
How do you have Sanmar, Alpha shirt co shipping free? Do you just meet their minimums for orders?

We were hoping for discounts with having our shipping shipped in, too. Thanks! Still researching this stuff.
we meet the minimum requirements for free shipping - broder is $150 and Sanmar is $200 I believe...But broder has a better return policy.

Sometimes you can talk with your rep for some companies and get the free shipping anyway...
Are the shirt prices from Broder as low as Sanmar?
