knife, sciescors :) your vc can score the materal making it easyer to seperate.
Sorry Dee, there is no easy way that I know of to do that. If it is a common shape, you can get pre cut magnetic shapes from places like the magnetking online and then apply a decal to that.

Hope this helps,

Steven
Yep, I saw that on magnetking.....someone should invent a tool that has interchangeable shapes to cut....Thanks, Steve. It's not a good idea to cut them on the VersaCamm, right?
Adrienne I have cut 20mil on my VP540 - a good few times - you are not cutting through but rather scoring where you can fold back and forth and they popout. What I do is go into the advance settings in the cut menu and tell it to cut twice and slow the speed. It has always worked so far.
Thanks, Irving...I'll try that.....

Can you give me some steps to follow and paramater settings for making magnetic items on the VC 540.  I have tried in the past and the magnetic material sticks to the metal where the media feeds through the machine.I have Mojace 20 and 30mil on hand

thanks

If printing before cutting, do you have to lift the heads also? Isn't there something else you have to adjust?...tracking, or something?
you do need to have the heads up to the high setting when printing on magnetic material. You should also calibrate your machine for the different matrerial in order to adjust the feed calibration and cutting calibration.
I'm not printing directly to the magnetic material...I am printing on vinyl and adhering it to the magnetic material....I first printed directly to the magnetic material with the print head up and did not get a good result....the ink smeared when the print head went back and forth.
I am only saying that I am not sending my machine back and have never touched the head height. Now what works for me might not work for others, but I am from the very old school and do not tell people to follow what I do. But if you were to, up to 20 mils - I use a material call Digijet - no height adjustment - slow the cut - have it pass twice and directly to the material. I have samples in the photo section - of my dogs, and bus. I am talking contour cut. No smearing no erroneous cuts usually 15 inches at a time.
Irv, It's the cookie/apple cake lady from Saturday. I'm not really good at this whole blog thing. Where would I find the photos you're talking about of the magnets you made. Where do you get your magnetic material from. We just had a client call and inquire about magnetic car door signs, so I'm interested in getting back to him.
Ok Vicki the cookie/apple cake lady as I can be now known as the cookie eating heading south on 87 man - the place is http://www.sfsupplies.com/ - the name DijiJet - I will get you the location but if you go to my page and my photos you should see them. I could not find the magnets either. Still looking
