It appears my VersaWorks has lost its ability to understand Cut Contours? It worked fine the last time I cut but today it isn't working. I had changed some settings in Corel, like my color palletes and default color settings. When I set my contour to a cut line (labeled as a CutContour spot color) and export it to VersaWorks, no cut lines show. I also attempted to add perforated cut contours (PerfCutContour) which seems to not work either, I am assuming it is the same deal as the cut contour. My Ques in VersaWorks are set as to Generic Vinyl as default media and I change it when I import files respectively.
Not really sure what to do now? Any help would be really appreciated.

Permalink Reply by Dana Curtis on September 26, 2011 at 6:09pm Check the "Special Items" line in the middle of the page on VersaWorks. There will be icons listed if VersaWorks detects a special spot color. This works for cut lines as well as Roland Color library colors. The codename is what VersaWorks is looking for. If the cut lines are spelled correctly in the file but aren't showing up in VersaWorks, go back to Corel and right click on the cut line - choose "Order/To Front of Page" or [Ctrl + Home], this will bring the cut line layer to the front and then it won't rasterize during flattening. This is a common Illustrator problem but can also occur in Corel. Like John says above, make sure it isn't converting spot colors to CMYK, otherwise it won't respect the color identity and it will try to print your cut line.
Make sure "Convert spot colors to:" is NOT checked in the EPS Export window.
Permalink Reply by Priscilla Grant on September 27, 2011 at 8:39am Thanks for the responses everyone. Unfortunately, it still doesn't work. I am not converting to spot colors, the names are spelled correctly and Corel is recognizing them as Roland specific Cut Contours, and the cut contours are on the front of the layers. VersaWorks doesn't show that there are any special items though.
Should I uninstall VersaWorks then reinstall? Not sure entirely what that might do but you never know.
Permalink Reply by Dana Curtis on September 27, 2011 at 10:29am Try initializing first before uninstalling. It can be found from the Start menu under All Programs/Roland VersaWorks. You'll have to re-input the IP address and reset all your settings under Edit/Preferences so write all those down before initializing.

Permalink Reply by John H. on September 27, 2011 at 10:32am Try dragging in an old file with a cut line that worked before into Versaworks, if you have an active cut line something must have changed with the new settings in Corel, Look at the properties of the old file and compare the two together to try to find something different?
Hope it helps.
Permalink Reply by Priscilla Grant on September 27, 2011 at 12:22pm Again, thanks for all the helpful responses. And still unfortunately, re-initializing didn't work nor using a previous file (both new and old files have the same properties). VersaWorks still will not recognize the CutContour lines made and specified in Corel X5...
I'm trying the uninstall now...
