I tried posting this on the Corel forum awhile back but didn't get an answer. After the last update x5 seems to crash when doing a print preview on both the laptop and the desktop. Both are running 64 bit Windows 7 systems. Anyone else have this problem?

A lot of people gave me advice about resetting it and emptying the temp file and that helped a little, the issue was X5 is a 32bit program as soon as I went to X6 it works flawlessly, It's the first Corel Draw made for 64bit. I am running 8 Gigs of ram with a i7 processor and an Intel Extreme Mobo so it wasn't the computer that's for sure.
I just dled x6 trial but I still need x5 to work with smartdesigner.

Still have to have x5 for that and of course smartdesigner, but x5 crashes a ton when using smartdesigner so until DAS decides to upgrade it's almost not worth the constant hassle of having it crash. When you talk to photoshop and illy uses, they never seem to have the same crash issues :-(

Permalink Reply by John H. on May 4, 2012 at 5:23pm Corel knows about the issue with scanner compatibility in X6, It's supposed to be fixed when the first update comes out, I think they said june or july?. I think they wanted to beat Adobe with releasing their program first, because Adobe just announced there new Illustrator version comes out very soon or it may have been released already.
Permalink Reply by Kathy MacMannis on May 4, 2012 at 5:29pm ahhhhhh thanks for the scanner update, I was really bummed about it since there were no updated drivers for my scanner and it's not like I changed operating systems or anything. That makes me feel better.
