Banner Material not staying straight

HELLO all,

I`ve searched the fourms for this question all to no avail,i`m sure it`s been asked

before but i couldn`t locate it.

When i print a long banner the material tends to slide to the left as far as slipping off the

first roller. What is the best way to align and keep it straight, I have the 540 spv before i sold

my 300sp i never had this problem.

Before printing, feed the banner material forward and see if it starts to move. If it does, lift the pinch rollers and readjust the allignment of the banner material. Repeat step 1. You can also add additional pinch rollers.

You can also change the settings on the printer to prefers the entre job before it prints to see if it will run straight

I run the banner all the way through first then back it up watching the alignment both ways just let it hang in the back don't roll it back up, usually put a sheet down on the floor so it doesn't get dirty, and always use all the rollers.

Pretty much like Dennis and Admin suggested.

If you use 'media flanges' you shouldn't have this issue at all... If you don't have one, its highly recomended for people who do long prints of banners and other media applicable uses.

http://www.cibersupply.com/roland-oem-media-flanges.html try checking this site out. We got ours as a package from Stahls Pacific. Try places like Amazon and Ebay, you may find cheaper prices for the same item.

I believe that the suggestions on this page should be take into consideration, because they work. As you already know, its a matter of time and technique along with skills to get things up and running smoothly. It took me about a good 6months to get my machine up and running. Admin's reply below is probably the best way to go, as i use that technique to make sure my banner isn't going off in a tangent when doing long prints.

It takes a little practice to get everything straight. I usually hold the media at the front and then reach under and move the roll forward and backward until it is all tight and straight. You can also use the pre-feed function on the machine to ensure the media is going to stay straight for the entire run.
