A Digital Printing Network
I was doing some cleaning on my Sp300V trying to solve some of my banding and overspray issues, and while cleaning the wipers I noticed the wiper scraper was broken in half, so now I don't have one on the printer .... what are the risks of printing without it ? ink cross contamination ?
Pretty sure they don't have that part here where I live and looking online cheapest one is asking me over $30 just for shipping !!!
I managed to put the cracked one together and traced it with a pen over some cardboard, using that I was able to cut a couple of pieces from some thick mylar I had laying around here, but my question is (finally ...) what's the position the wiper scraper should sit in the printer ? I cannot find a pic of that anywhere and since mine was broken when i found it I have no reference to install the new one.
Any pic or diagram would be appreciated
thanks a lot
Give me a few - I will send you one - in the meantime - it is a simple piece of plastic held in place almost line how boxes are folded without tape. it is like a notch and then tucking in the two outer edges.and then screwing in the outer cover. I am going to look for the diagram now.
Let me know if this helps - notch under tib, then tuck the ends in on both sides - screw in the cover
Thanks Irv, I'll try to make it work. The diagram doesn't show "exactly" how it goes, but I can try to figure it out.
Am I correct assuming it flips in only one direction and not both right ?
Thanks again for your prompt answer!
you will need to bow the scraper slightly, push up behind middle metal tab (middle slot on scraper aligns with metal tab) slots in end of scraper line up with slots on each side of metal holder (this is why you will need to bow it slightly to get it to insert into metal frame)
Thanks y'all for the help. I managed to fix it taking the cracked one and putting it between 2 mylar pieces I cut to fit, works even better than the original one now :)

Within the US Butch, looks like international shipping is an excuse to rape the customers :)
thought you were in texas, just have someone here buy and send by mail
Nop, left good ole' TX 6 months ago, so nothing is at hand's reach anymore :(
I don't want to bother people over this, but this DIY fix is gonna hold until I get a new one.
thanks again for the support
Glad it works and thanks Butch I think bow was a better word than bow and sorry Carlos since I have taken them out the picture works but if it broke and fell out - you were at a different starting point. I think your solution will work, but I do not want to encourage openly manufacturing quick fixes, like aluminum foil to fix fuses. No I did not say that - you will surely toast your computer. Certain things are better with a tech, but a scraper is not one of them.
I do appreciate your help guys, and I agree with what you say, but given the circumstances I had to do the best I could with what I had at the time. That's gonna push me to learn all about my machine, and no place better than this one to do it.
